Throughout the last few years, we have been hearing that temples having excess donations and merging it to the government’s main treasury. As a Buddhist, I think this is unethical because someone’s donation is no longer related to the government treasury (because it’s not a tax).
Instead of that, we can think of a way that collects all the excess donations to a separate account which is overseen and controlled by some committee (approved by head monks of monastic fraternities and president).
This will resolve the excess donation issue as well as, especially the appointed committee can direct and distribute fund for all the temples which are not having enough funds/donations to continue when needed.
